Lordy Lordy – I met the Lord Mayor

You know it is one thing to get wrapped up in your own excitement about a project, but when other people like it and give you words of encouragement that is just the air you need beneath your wings.

Needing validation from the big kahuna, I wrote a hand written note to Melbourne’s Lord Mayor – Robert Doyle.  Lewis had hand drawn a gorgeous illustration of the town hall building so I wrote it on the back of that.

Inside the carefully hand delivered package was a copy of the 1991 Melbourne Map and I asked, very nicely, for the opportunity to meet with Robert and talk about our plans to update The Melbourne Map.

And Robert did not disappoint, his people contacted my people (me) and we set up meeting, and on Friday 13th May I was walking down these hallways to meet with The Right Hon, The Lord Mayor of Melbourne.

We sat in his very grand office, had a great chat, and he liked the idea.  I think Robert was most excited about the Melbourne Map App and the opportunities that it will bring to the city and it’s residents and visitors.

Thank you Robert Doyle, I know you are a very busy man and I appreciate the chat.

Our people are now having more talks with his people….. stand by.
